Belt and Road Scholarship
一带一路奖学金
A loose category of scholarships targeting students from Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) countries. There is no single program literally named 'Belt and Road Scholarship'; however, the national Chinese Government Scholarship Silk Road Program (丝绸之路项目), administered by the China Scholarship Council, is the de-facto national BRI scholarship. Beyond it, provincial/municipal governments (e.g. Jiangsu, Beijing, Xi'an) and individual universities run their own BRI-branded scholarships. The Jiangsu provincial government funds BRI students under the BRI edition of its Jasmine Jiangsu Government Scholarship.
Details
Administered by Various provincial and municipal governments (not a single national body).
- Coverage
Coverage varies entirely by program and tier, from tuition-only up to full funding. The national CSC Silk Road Program follows the standard CSC full-scholarship structure (tuition, accommodation, stipend, insurance).
Institutional BRI scholarships differ: e.g. Beijing Normal University's Belt and Road School Scholarship and the Xi'an City BRI Scholarship each have full tiers covering tuition plus accommodation and a living allowance (not tuition alone), alongside lower partial tiers.
The Jiangsu provincial government funds BRI students under the BRI edition of its Jasmine Jiangsu Government Scholarship (see slug=jiangsu) rather than a separate provincial 'Belt and Road' brand.
